Brighten up any room with these adorable vases!
Supplies:
3-4 Glass Vases from your Local Craft Store
Colorful Perm-Enamel Paints
Clear Satin Glaze (optional)
Martha Stewart Stencil Pack
2 Paint Brushes
Step One: Clean the vases in soapy warm water. Allow the vases to dry for 15 minutes.
Step Two: Mix the Perm-Enamel paints in a mixing bowl until you get the exact color you envision, then pour the paint inside the vase. Paint the inside of the glass using a large paint brush to cover the inside surface.
Step Three: After the vase is painted, lay it upside down on newspaper to let the thick paint drip off. You will be amazed at how much comes out! The longer the vase is upside down, the thinner the coating will be. Turn the vase back over and touch up the drips inside. Every fifteen minutes you can even out the thickness on the bottom of the vase as the paint will start to collect.
Step Four: Allow the vases to dry for 24 hours.
Step Five: Pick out which stencil you want to use for your design.
Step Six: If you choose a long horizontal stencil, I recommend using a rubber band to ensure your designs come out straight.
Step Seven: Position the stencil on the vase underneath the rubber band.
Step Eight: Use a smaller paintbrush to paint a thick coat of paint on top of the stencil. Remove the stencil while the paint is still wet. Allow the vase to dry for 2 hours.
